MBE History
Founded in 1980 by Herg Goffstein, Pat and Mimi Senn, the first MBE centre opened in Carlsbad, California, as a convenient alternative to the post office. MBE began franchising that same year, and till this day, all MBE centres are independently owned and operated.

Achievements
MBE is the largest non-food retail storefront franchise and one of the fastest growing franchises in the world. Far outpacing its imitators, MBE is over seven times larger than its largest competitor, and nearly three times larger than its five largest competitors combined.
Over the years, MBE has received numerous accolades. For 2001, MBE was ranked second in Entrepreneur magazine's "Franchise 500", a comprehensive ranking of all franchises worldwide.
